With more new signings coming into the side, there was again a new line-up, and it showed; the team didn't seem balanced, and didn't really function as a unit. Lee Archer started at left back, and had a torrid time as Telford ran free down that wing throughout the game.
An uneventful first half, for the most part, the only real chances coming from the home side. As early as the fourth minute, Jim Bentley got his head to a cross putting it just wide, and Gez Murphy did likewise six minutes later when he should have scored, Yeovil's only real attempts on goal in the first period were free-kicks from Ben Smith and Lee Archer that both went into the keeper's arms.
The second period started dramatically, Telford taking a deserved lead early on, then Yeovil replying almost immediately. The Bucks' goal came, of course, from a run down their right, exposing Yeovil's defensive weakness on the left; the cross was flicked on across the area to Gez Murphy on the left, who beat Tony Pennock at the near post.
WIthin a minute it was level. Ben Smith won the ball on the edge of the Telford area, knocked it to Adrian Foster who crossed from the by-line; the ball evaded Warren Patore, but Jamie Pitman stole in at the far post to crash home the equaliser.
But this didn't really signal much of a revival, and Telford continued to have the freedom of their right wing. The second goal did actually come from the other side though, when a missed tackle allowed a cross from the left for McGorry to head home vitually unchallenged.
Eventually Kevan Brown was brought on to replace Archer, and Paul Tisdale came on to make his début. But little changed. The game was finished when Matt Hayfield fouled Simon Travis in the area, for Gez Murphy to hit home from the penalty spot.
Much as additions to the squad are clearly welcome, the result of the changes this week seemed to produce a greatly imbalanced squad. The left side of the defence was Lee Archer at 'wing back', and Matt Stowell as the left; between them nowhere near the strength of Chris Sparks and Jamie Pitman. But one couldn't say that that was the only problem today; passes went astray, free headers were given, and finally discpline went: Terry Skiverton was dismissed for a head butt aimed at Malkin.
