24 August 2000

Dear Mr. Fry,

I am writing further to our conversation on Saturday 19 August 2000.

I am sure you are aware that our committee received a letter dated 21 August 2000 from Alan Skirton informing us that we are to cease the selling of membership and merchandise on your premises.

I have to say that I am most disappointed to have received this letter from a third party when I was expecting to have heard directly from yourself. I explained to you on Saturday that I would like for all supporters associations of Yeovil Town Football Club to meet and discuss our individual aims and objectives in an attempt to dissolve the ill feeling that has been evident in recent months. You advised me that you would contact me this week to discuss this further.

I was therefore not expecting to receive a letter that paid no reference to our conversation.

Having spoken to the other committee members we feel a meeting with yourself is now even more essential in order to discuss the best way forward for us all. I would very much appreciate it if you would respond to me directly to inform me whether or not you are prepared to meet with us and if so, to arrange a mutually convenient time.

Whilst writing, I would like to remind you of a conversation you held with our chairman Mark Kelly approximately a year ago during which you advised him to join an official association if he wished to have a 'voice'. This has unfortunately proved impossible as Mr. Kelly has attempted to join the Green & White Supporters Club but has had his membership refused. He has been informed that his name is held on a list of people who are banned from joining that particular club. I am most surprised that this action can have taken place without Mr. Kelly being informed of the decision and indeed having the relevant channels to appeal.

If it is the club's wish for all fans to join an official association, surely such flimsy restrictions should be lifted. Mr. Kelly has never had a discrepancy with the Green & White Supporters Club but has had personal problems with two of its committee. Personal problems are surely not a valid reason upon which to ban somebody from joining the supporters club.

This is an issue on which we are considering seeking further advice, however I would be interested to receive your views on this.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you shortly.

Yours sincerely

Sara Brimble
Secretary of the YTISA
