In this article, Steve looks at his own injury status, following his comeback game in the reserves.

The recovery is still progressing well. I planned to do 20 minutes on Wednesday, but as a bonus managed to complete the first half.

I may have even overdone it a bit as my knee is a little sore at the moment, but I was enjoying it so much I didn't want to come off. It just felt great to be playing again.

Regarding the draw at Rushden, the performance on Tuesday was the most important thing. Everybody competed and worked hard. Without being too downbeat though that is easier to achieve against Rushden than it is in less high profile games, where we will find out if any corners have been turned. IMO.

The report in the Western Gazette, about contract negotiations, is not true. I have not spoken to the club about contracts since January when I approached them about a new contract and was told I had to wait and see because of the injury. I have been concentrating on getting back to fitness as that is the most important thing at the moment.
