A side that were later to make it through to Serie A, Bari are from the resort of that name near the heel of Italy.
Formed originally in 1908, the club split into two separate sides ten years later, before being pushed into a re-merger in the 1920s by the Italian League. A brief spell of Serie A football in the early 30s, and again soon after the war, preceded a slide right down to the depths of regional football, before recovering again.
