Yeovil Team: Jones, Herrity, Harris, Albury, Lamden, Muir, Pounder, Foley, Hall, Taylor, Pound.
The first time I saw Yeovil play, Huish was packed to the rafters. Yeovil's first goal was scored by Ken Pound, with a great shot from the right in the Queen's Street End net, and Dave Taylor bagged the second.
The winner came late in the game at the Bruton's end, scrambled in by Peter Hall (Yeovil's book records this one as by Taylor too - Ed)
The final score was:
Yeovil Town (Southern league) 3, Crystal Palace (3rd division) 1
Yeovil played Bury at home in the 3rd round, but lost 2 - 0.
